Of the Earth Artisans in the news!

Of the Earth Artisans is sponsoring a wonderful show that promotes entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial thinking…The Wright Place High Tea with Dr. Letitia Wright. She is a wonderful lady, her interviews are insightful, and her words are genuine. OTE Artisans is one of the sponsors of the The Wright Place High Tea, which will be airing this week. If you aren’t able to see the program, you can stop by our website some time after the show. We’ll be putting up a link to the show or a video of our own on the show.

Remember, our website is http://of-the-earth.org and stopping there will also take you to our galleries of jewelry and other art pieces.

Take some time and look around. We’re still working on the site, so expect a slightly different look to appear over the next few weeks.

We don’t have any pictures up of the gifts we’ve sent for the guests of Dr. Wrights show, and there’s a reason. Dr. Wright likes to surprise her guests and viewers, so we’re helping her keep the surprise quiet.

Thank you to everyone who’s stopped by, and thank you to our wonderful customers! We hope you like the new look of our website, and enjoy the easier shopping that we’re implementing.

Remove Tarnish

As someone who strives to fine the least toxic ways to work with and clean the jewelry I make, I have been happily using a product that removes tarnish very well. If you don’t mind the smell of vinegar, that is.

Using a metal cooking pot (that is NOT aluminum, no non-stick materials, etc) or a metal dish/bowl, pour in water and vinegar in a 2 to 1 ratio, 2 times the amount of vinegar as water. There only needs to be enough to cover the jewelry pieces (only all sterling silver jewelry). Leave this sit for an hour or two. Usually 4 hours is enough to remove traces of even the most stubborn tarnish. Remove jewelry from container and rinse well.
